A man from North Carolina, Jeffrey Myers Lacortiglia, reportedly walked into a police station in Ohio on Sunday morning and confessed to shooting his wife, Blanca Lacortiglia, at their home in Spring Lake. After contacting the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the couple’s home and found Blanca dead in the master bedroom. A note that read, “I’m sorry. I love you,” was found on the counter in the kitchen, and a firearm and ammunition magazine were found on the bed beside Blanca’s body.

Lacortiglia was taken into custody by the Hamilton Township Police Department in Ohio and is awaiting extradition. According to The Daily Record, Lacortiglia arrived in Ohio and told his mother what he had done to his wife, who then encouraged him to turn himself into the police. The couple reportedly has an eight-year-old son who was with Lacortiglia in Ohio. Sheriff Wayne Coats has obtained a warrant for Lacortiglia’s arrest for the murder of his wife, and the investigation is ongoing.
